Bridge Building on the North Country Trail
Last Friday a dozen of us North Country Trail volunteers gathered at Spring Creek where it crosses the North Country Trail to build a 70 foot bridge to span the creek. The beavers have been active in this area so a bridge became a necessity. In an earlier issue I shared how we had trailered in the lumber and carried it to the creek. On this day with the help of Kenny from the national office, the twelve of us were able to construct this bridge in six hours with a seventh hour spent cleaning up and having a cold one afterwards.
