The day finally arrived to start the Border to Border! I had gone to bed at 10:00 p.m. the night before, but I was wide awake by 3:30 a.m. I managed to doze off a couple of times before the alarm went off at 6:30, but I was refreshed and ready to go! The course for the day would run from Suorajarvi to the the Tropiiki Resort north of Kuusamo. Here is the map of the day's course:
Darn, you look cold! Loved that area when I was in Finland skiing outside of Rovaniemi. (Riitta's grandparents lived in Rovaniemi) The trees were so tall and laden with snow! I hope day 2 is awesome and without any glitches! Cheering for you!!
