After Julie and I completed our North Country Trail hike along Plumbago Creek, we stopped at nearby Ogemaw Creek to hike to the falls and to bushwhack downstream.
My deepest condolences on your father. I truly enjoyed reading about him - he is an inspiration to you and to many others. He served his family, community and our country so unselfishly. Interesting fact: my father also served in the Navy during World War II.
Jenn, thanks for your kind words! My Dad served in the South Pacific during the last year of the war and then in China during its revolution. He turned 18 while in boot camp and completed his active service before turning 21. The war experiences of the Greatest Generation certainly had a significant impact on their future success!

My Dad served in China also - he left his college studies after 2 years and served from around 1945 to 1947.
Cool! My Dad was over there from 44 to 46 on an LSM known as The Thorn.
